Overview

‘Karnataka with Backwaters’ will give you the chance to explore the three most amazing states of Southern India, Karnataka, Kerala and also you will get an opportunity to explore the major attractions in Delhi as well.

Karnataka which is the land of history culture and tradition along with natural beauty of the beaches and mist covered hilly heights. It is one of the most historical sate of India, it was the home of some of India's largest and most powerful dynasties, the state has across the centuries.

Kerala is one of the most beautiful state in Southern part of India on the Malabar Coast which blessed with unique geographical features that have made it one of the most sought after tourist destinations in India. Kerala is also known as “God’s own Country’’ as the state is surrounded by backwaters lies with Palm trees, stunning hill stations, wildlife, rich culture and heritage.  

During the tour you will cover the beautiful places such as Delhi, Bangalore, Mysore, Coorg-Wyanad, Cochin, Kumarakom, Periyar,Munnar. During the tour, you will explore the major attractions of the places along with that along with the glorious historical charm in Mysore, Bangalore and Cochin. You will also explore the stunning beaches along with the beautiful backwater of Kerala, while visiting Kumarakom and Alleppey. Apart from this you will also explore wildlife of the region by visiting some popular wildlife reserves such as Periyar National Park, Erivakulam national park and Kumarakom bird sanctuary. The duration of the tour is 15 nights and 16 days.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Delhi

Arrive at Delhi you meet and greet by our representative, proceed to the hotel, check in at the hotel. Post lunch, proceed for sightseeing of Delhi, and visit the major tourist attractions of Delhi covering Laxmi Narayan Temple, India Gate, Parliament House, Jama Masjid, Red Fort and the Gandhi memorial. In the evening you have the option of exploring the pulsating night life of Delhi.  Overnight in the hotel.

Day 2 : Delhi-Bangalore (By Flight)

Upon arriving at the Bangalore Airport, meet our representative, after welcome, transfer to your hotel. It is also known as Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka state.

Once you reach Bangalore check-in to your pre-booked hotel. After freshen up, proceed to visit the major attractions of the city such as St. Mark's Cathedral, ISKCON Sri Radha Krishna-Chandra temple, Shivasamudram Falls, and Wonderla Amusement Park. In the evening visit to the Nandi temple and the Vidhan Soudha temple. Enjoy overnight in the hotel.

Day 3 : Bangalore-Mysore (By Road-145 Kilometres)(Sightseeing)

In the morning after breakfast, drive straight to Mysore.On the way visit Srirangapatna- the capital of Hyder Ali and his son Tipu Sultan. Visit Tipu's Palace that is now in ruins, Gumbaz- the burial chamber of Tipu Sultan, his father Haider Ali and mother Fatima Begum and lastly, Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, known as Dariya Daulat Palace. Also visit the St. Philomenas Church, built in the Gothic style and is one of the largest churches of the country.

 Once reach Mysore, check-in to your pre-booked hotel. Take rest for a while. Post lunch enjoy a sightseeing tour of Mysore including Golden Royal Elephant, Brindavan Gardens, Mysore Zoo and the Durbar hall. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 4 : Mysore-Coorg(By Road-110 Kilometres)(Sightseeing)

Post breakfast; explore the Maharaja Palace, also known as Mysore Palace or the Amba Vilas Palace - official residence of Wodeyars, the royal family of Mysore. Afterwards, visit the Nandi or Bull temple at the Chamundi Hills- a temple dedicated to Nandi (Bull), the vehicle of Lord Shiva.

Later drive to Coorg. It is also known as Kodagu, located in the south-west part of Karnataka bordering Kerala. It is one of the most popular hill station of Karnataka, situated on the Western Ghats which is known for coffee and its ethnic warriors.
Once you reach there, you check- in at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure, you can explore for the stunning surroundings of the town. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 : Coorg(Sightseeing)

Today after breakfast, proceed for the sightseeing tour in Coorg, visit the coffee plantations, and the orchards. Apart from this also visit the Fort on top of a hill that overlooks the town. Apart from this you will also visit the major attractions of the town such as Nalnad Palace, Madikeri Fort, Omkareshwara Temple, Cauvery Nisargadhama etc. Halt for a lunch break at one of the city hotels. Then set off to visit Gaddige, it is one of the most popular historical monument in the town. Also visit Talacauvery, it is renowned pilgrimage centre but also for the natural beauty sprinkled around the place.
 Return to the hotel in the evening. Have your dinner. Overnight in your hotel room.

Day 6 : Coorg-Wayanad (By Road-113 Kilometres)(Sightseeing)

After breakfast, drive straight to Wayanad. It  is one of the most popular and exotic district of Kerala, located in southern tip of the Deccan Plateau, surrounded by dense forest and deep valleys. The largest part of the district is covered with forest, which is the home of various endangered species of flora and fauna.

On reaching Wayanad, check-in to your pre booked hotel. After freshen up, proceed to visit the major tourist attractions of Wayanad covering Edakkal cave, Banasura Sagar Dam, Kuruva Dweep, Chembra Peak and the Meenmutty Fall. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7 : Wayanad-Cochin (By Road-259 Kilometres)

After having an early breakfast, drive to Cochin. It is one of the most important city of Kerala which is also known as Cochin. Located on the south-west coast in Kerala which is also known as the Gateway to Kerala, situated on the Arabian Sea. The city was also influenced by British, Dutch, and Portuguese, who has left their indelible marks which is spread over the city through the beautiful architecture, culture and traditions. We can still feel the essence of the cultural diversity.
Upon arrival check in to the hotel. Rest day is free at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 : Cochin

Post breakfast, proceed for sightseeing tour of Cochin, covering the major attractions such as Mattancherry Palace, St. Francis Church as well as the Jewish Synagogue. In the evening enjoy a Kathakali Dance performance in the theatre. Overnight stay in Cochin.

Day 9 : Cochin-Kumarakom (By Road-50 Kilometres)(Sightseeing)

Today after breakfast, drive to Kumarakom. It is the one of the most popular tourist destination in Kerala. It is renowned for backwater, located on the Vembanad Lake, which is the largest lake of fresh water. The backwater fishing village is indeed a heaven, and has had its attractions advertised by some stunning top end resorts by the side of Vembanad Lake. 

On reaching Kumarakom, check-in at one of our listed houseboat for an overnight cruise to Kerala backwaters. Enjoy overnight at the cruise.

Day 10 : Backwaters-Kumarakom-Alleppey-Kumarakom (By Road-35 Kilometres)(Sightseeing)

After having an early breakfast on the cruise finish your house boat journey. After that, proceed to visit Alleppey. It is also known as Alappuzha It is famous for backwaters. There are at least six navigable canals in the town. In the east they open to the backwater connecting the city to the mesh of backwater trials, which are abuzz with reinvented kettuvalloms (houseboats). In this fresh and salt water eco system, visitors come to rediscover life lived at a deliciously slow pace.
Visit major attractions of Alleppey such asKarumadi, Krishnapuram Palace, Pandavan Rock and the beautiful Alleppey beach. In the evening return to Kumarakom for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 11: Kumarakom(Sightseeing)

Early in the morning proceed for sightseeing of Kumarkom, and visit the major attractions along with Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Protected by a thick cluster of mangroves, the bird sanctuary spread across 14 acres and home to over 180 species of birds. It is best to visit on foot by one and half kilometres on walking trek, where you are likely to spot heron, darters, water duck, waterfowl, owl, cuckoo and Siberian cranes.

After bird watching head to the hotel for check-in and breakfast. Later in the day visit the Bay Island Driftwood Museum which showcases great collection of quality driftwood articles holding high artistic values, prepared through an innovative modern art technique. Enjoy dinner and night stay in Kumarakom.

Day 12 : Kumarakom-Periyar (By Road-125 Kilometres)

After having breakfast, proceed for Periyar National Park which renowned  tiger and elephant reserve which is located at Idukki districts and Pathanamthitta in Kerala. The sanctuary is surrounded with dense forest and grass lands.

On arrival, check into a jungle lodge. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Night stay in the lodge.

Day 13 : Periyar

After having an early breakfast, then proceed to explore the Periyar National park by boat. Enjoy bird watching while boat riding on the Periyar Lake where you can spot both resident and migratory birds. You can also take guided trek through the Periyar National Park. The sanctuary is surrounded with dense forest and grass lands. It is home of Indian tigers, elephants, lion tailed macaques, gaurs, deer, sambars apart from this 45 species of reptiles , 30 species of snakes, 13 lizard species.

 The afternoon is free to relax. Stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 14 : Periyar-Munnar(By Road-85 Kilometres)

Today after an early breakfast, drive to Munnar, it is one of the most picturesque hill station in the Idukki district of Kerala which offers the stunning view of the tea plantations and Cardamom hills .

On reaching, check in at the hotel. Rest day is free at leisure, you may take leisure walk around the breath-taking surroundings of the town. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 15 : Munnar(Sightseeing)

After breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of  Munnar., you will visit the major attractions Including Christ Church which was established in 1910 by the British, visit Eravikulam National Park which is the home of Nilgiri Tahr apart from this is also vast flora and fauna.

Then explore Mattupetty DamIt is located at the distance of 13 kilometres away from Munnar. This 160 feet high dam has vast reservoir extending several kilometres into the hill. Cruising here is an amazing experience. It is offering occasional sightings of elephant, gaur as well as sambar and Anamudi peak it located at the elevation of 2695 meter above the sea level, the peak is located within Eravikulam, you may also get a trekking opportunities here. Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 16 : Munnar-Cochin (By Road-132 Kilometres)-Delhi (By Flight)
